Discipleship is a life-long process that we are all walking in. We love the body of Christ and encouraging our brothers and sisters to fight the good fight as they continue to work out their salvation as they grow closer to Christ. We have several ministry approaches that we use to disciple the body of Christ and reach Kenya with the Word of God.
FELLOWSHIPS
We have three Good News Community Centre (GNCC) Fellowships in Kenya. One is in Kisumu and two are in a rural setting. Our fellowships are designed for weekly spirit-led worship, biblical teaching and preaching that are all covered with prayer and intercession. During the week, church members are encouraged to join house fellowships where they meet as a small group and study the Bible together. Our church also meets weekly for a prayer meeting. A Fellowship Leadership Team oversees the ministry of the church and provides sound Christian leadership.
PRACTICAL OUTREACH
Our ministry approach is to meet the spiritual and physical need of the people. When God leads us to, we provide for individual and community needs. We do this through donating food baskets, business support, building mud huts, and generating sustainable income projects. We also help meet larger community needs like providing a well, beginning a sewing school, or establishing a community garden.
EVANGELISM
Sharing the Word of God is a great way to reach those who aren’t walking with the Lord, as well as a good opportunity for those who know Christ to grow in their faith as they share about our great God. Our churches have several opportunities to evangelize through door-to-door ministry, open air crusades, and church planting.
WIDOWS GROUP
Ogwethi Widows Group was one of GNCC’s first ministries in 2005. Over 50 widows gather every other week to study the word of God and support each other through the joys and trials of life.
Over the years, they have had a goat and sheep income generating project, sewing business, and jewelry making project.
When a widow is in need of new shelter, GNCC helps provide funds for a new mud hut and they come together to help build her a new home together.
This group is a great example of the love of God.
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed-not only in my presence but now much more in my absence- continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
